Photon Energy Group is proud to announce the soft launch of Photon Remediation, a new brand dedicated to environmental cleanup. Emerging from Photon Water's years of R&D and experience in sustainable remediation solutions, Photon Remediation is set to expand our innovative solutions into the global remediation market.
Offering remediation services in Australia and Europe, with plans to expand to North America and Asia, Photon Remediation is positioned to address some of today’s most critical environmental challenges, including PFAS and the contamination of groundwater, soil, and landfills.
Photon Water has long been at the forefront of water management and treatment solutions, including purification, filtration, and the protection of water ecosystems. Through extensive research and development, our team has pioneered cutting-edge groundwater remediation technologies.
Building on this foundation, Photon Remediation represents a significant evolution. With this new division, we’re extending our expertise beyond water to offer comprehensive remediation solutions for a wider array of environmental issues, including chemical contamination and emerging threats like PFAS in soil and biolsolids.
Following a period of transition and development during the soft launch phase of the brand launch, Photon Remediation will be Photon Energy Group's dedicated provider of environmental remediation solutions, while Photon Water continues its essential work in the field of water treatment and management. Together, they will form a powerful suite of capabilities, addressing both the immediate and long-term challenges of environmental contamination.
Photon Water's in-situ groundwater remediation technology, pictured above, will now be offered through Photon Remediation
Photon Remediation launches with two flagship technologies in development, WaterGuard Nano™ and EarthGuard PRB™, both of which have the potential to position us as leaders in sustainable environmental remediation.
Formerly referred to as electrochemically enhanced in-situ nanoremediation, this patented technology is now being launched as WaterGuard Nano™. This revolutionary solution uses nanoparticles and electrochemical processes to eliminate harmful contaminants like PFAS from groundwater directly on site, eliminating the need for expensive and risky offsite treatment.
Most other in-situ solutions simply contain PFAS, persistent pollutants often referred to as the "forever chemicals." However, WaterGuard Nano™ eliminates PFAS, as seen in a field trial project for the Australian Government Department of Defence, where it demonstrated 70% to 90% removal of these hazardous substances. Powered by solar energy, WaterGuard Nano™ is a sustainable, cost-effective solution that reduces both environmental impact and operational costs.

Our patent-pending EarthGuard PRB™ solution is in ongoing development in partnership with University of Technology Sydney. Using a combination of advanced techniques, EarthGuard PRB™ targets the removal of PFAS from contaminated soil in-situ, ensuring that contaminants are contained and eliminated without extensive excavation.
Although testing is in early stages, the results we’ve seen so far have been extremely promising, reinforcing the potential of EarthGuard PRB™ as a market-leading technology.
“PFAS is everywhere,” says Ian Phillipps, General Manager of Photon Remediation and Photon Water in Australia. “It is critical we focus on making a difference with this contaminant, but in such a way that supports industry, infrastructure and the environment. Globally and collectively, we need sustainable, affordable solutions for PFAS that will make a measurable difference while not jeopardising circularity or resource recovery from waste. Our technologies and solutions are strongly aligned with these values, making their introduction to the market both important, and very exciting.”
Petr Kvapil, General Manager of Photon Remediation and Photon Water in Europe, adds: "What truly sets WaterGuard Nano™ and EarthGuard PRB™ apart is their ability to safely remove PFAS without any adverse environmental impacts. Both technologies are based on years of research and testing in the laboratory and in the field. We’re excited to bring them to market at a time when environmental regulations are tightening, and industries are searching for viable, sustainable solutions."
For our existing Photon Water remediation clients and partners, the launch of Photon Remediation will have no impact on ongoing operations or projects. You’ll continue to work with the same expert team you’ve trusted, now operating under the Photon Remediation brand. All current remediation projects will proceed with no disruptions to timelines, deliverables, or service quality.
This rebranding allows us to showcase our expanded capabilities while maintaining the same high standards of service and innovation that you’ve come to expect. Photon Remediation represents an evolution of our work, enabling us to address a broader range of environmental challenges without sacrificing the personalised, site-specific solutions that have been central to Photon Water's approach.
Whether you’re tackling groundwater contamination, soil pollution, or other environmental issues, Photon Remediation is now your go-to partner for comprehensive remediation solutions, supported by patented technology and the backing of Photon Energy Group’s global infrastructure.
Photon Remediation signals a strategic move into the high-growth environmental remediation market, which is set to expand rapidly as global awareness of environmental contamination intensifies. Governments, industries, and communities across the world are facing rising concerns over the long-term impacts of PFAS and other hazardous contaminants.
Photon Energy Group’s entry into this market comes at a crucial time. Backed by proven, patented technology, Photon Remediation is uniquely positioned to provide tailored, eco-friendly solutions that can be deployed directly at contaminated sites. This positions the brand for significant opportunities in both public and private sectors.
The commercial potential for Photon Remediation is immense, particularly in the United States, where we are already making inroads. Our team has presented at high-profile industry events, including Battelle's Chlorinated Conference in Denver, Colorado, helping to establish Photon Remediation as a thought leader in the sector.
